Directions
Suggested Usage:
-Dip the tip of the Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush (sold separately) into Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, being sure to coat both sides of the brush.
-Wipe off any excess on a tissue.
-Working quickly, apply liner in short, even strokes close to the lash line—from the inner to the outer eye corner.

The gel formula dries faster then liquid and applies more smoothly then a pencil. It's the best of both worlds.
I’ve had no problems with smudging or flaking, and it wears beautifully.

Smudges fast
I had high hopes for this seeing as it is a cult favourite, but was disappointed. The texture and colour are lovely however it is not waterproof or smudge proof as the description claims. Primer or not, a couple hours in and it's all over the corners of my eyes. Not worth the money.

My go-to eyeliner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first used this product a decade ago and it's still the only pot eyeliner I continue to use. The product does not dry out in the pot (I also store it upside down), which means I use up every bit of it. It stays put on my oily lids every time. I also personally prefer this pot because I can recycle the components when it's done.

Has this eyeliner changed? 7th and final buy.So disappointed
I've had 6 of these in the past and they were amazing - literally stayed up put and colour dense all day but I haven't bought one for about 3 years. I've just got the espresso ink again and the staying power and colour density is terrible! It's really see through not mat when you put it on and within 4 hours it's faded so much it's almost gone. I used it with the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow stick and eyeliner brush as normal and I'm so disappointed. This literally was my HG eyeliner, now there are cheaper ones that are far better, I won't buy again. :(

best eyeliner I have found - used it for years
I love this product for the way it goes on easily and smoothly and has real lasting power. Never found anything else as good BUT please, please bring back some of those lovely colours. Black is a bit too hard for me at my age and brown just doesn't cut it with my brown eyes. I am yearning for a dark blue or charcoal!!! Please!

Something has gone badly wrong
I used to love this eyeliner and have been using it for many years. It always dried out half way through the pot but I just accepted that. I was very disappointed to have to wait over 6 months for stocks in the UK to be replenished but delighted finally to be able to buy another pot a few weeks ago. The first time I used it I found it as dry as the one I had had for over a year. I returned it and bought another pot from a different retailer and am having exactly the same problem again. You have clearly either changed the formula or these pots have been sitting around somewhere for a very long time before being shipped to the UK. This is incredibly disappointing and I now have to find another brand instead which will be difficult as I have sensitive eyes and this has been my 'go to' for many years.
