Our Best Cream Blushers for Sunkissed Skin

Blush is the word, and cream blush is more than the moment. Bringing us a dewy refresh to our much-loved powder blushes, cream blush *might* be one of the must-have makeup products you’ve been seeing just about everywhere. Promising silky formulas that double as lip tints, and pigment that looks just as good on our lids, each one is created to enhance your natural beauty. Bringing you the best cream blushers on the market, here’s the inspiration you need to go from sun flushed to balletcore pink in just a few magical moments.

How to apply cream blush

While a specialised cream blush brush might do the trick, there’s nothing more useful here than our fingertips. Ideal for precise application and even blending, simply dab from blush to cheek for a sheer wash of colour. After a more intense finish? Take a blending brush to your complexion to apply, buff and blur. For top ups, all these cream blushes are mini but mighty - making them perfect for blushing on the glow.

Sun flushed

If there’s one formula we’ve been seeing a lot of, it’s Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Blush. An instant classic, this velvety pigment boasts shades that match every skin tone, and is our choice for trying the trending sunburned blush look. To recreate? Use the doe-foot applicator to dot a small amount of blush onto a clean complexion across your nose and at the tops of your cheeks, then tap into your skin with either your fingers or a blush brush. You can go as little or large as you like, depending on how sunkissed you’d like to look.

Apple of your eye

From the brand that brought us our fluffiest brows yet comes a cream blush just as foolproof. With a buildable formula that packs in all the pigment, REFY's Cream Blush is one formula we can rely on for multiple makeup looks. To get Bea’s glow, take a brush straight to the blush to pick up a small amount of product, and tap lightly onto the apples of your cheeks to enhance your natural flush.

Balletcore blush

We never thought we’d dream of recreating ballet days, but this ultra-pink look left us thinking otherwise. Playing with the traditional blush placements we all know and love, it’s our chance to make blush the main character - not just a supporting role. To get the look, start with a creamy concealer and foundation base, before selecting a high-octane pink shade like this MAC's Glow Play Blush. Then starting just under your eyes, tap into your skin with a brush, taking it up and out to your temples, before building up the intensity to one you’re comfortable with.

Pink champagne

The only thing better than champagne? Pink champagne - especially when it’s on our cheeks. And there’s no other brand we’d rather create this look with than Charlotte Tilbury. Cream blush at the ready, we’re turning to her cult Matte Beauty Wand in tandem with her Beauty Light Wand for a shimmery pink look that gives all the sparkle. To recreate, simply dab the wand onto the apples of your cheeks, alternating with your preferred highlighter shade. Then, buff and blend with a dense brush for the ultimate glow - a la Jourdan Dunn.

It takes two

Gradients don’t just belong in our Year 8 PowerPoint presentations - something r.e.m Beauty can vouch for. Blending two of their Eclipse Cheek & Lip Stick shades together (Audition and Call Back, if you’re asking), MUA Alyx Liu creates a soft, subtle twist on our usual one toned blush looks. Either mix to make your own unique shade, or start with the lighter Audition shade on the apples of your cheeks, blending out to the darker Call Back shade as you move out to your temples.
