In case you missed it: HAUS LABS by Lady Gaga launched exclusively at Sephora UK earlier this month. And to celebrate, Beauty Director for Stylist Magazine, Hanna Ibraheem shared with us an exclusive review.
While Lady Gaga is known for some major fashion moments (that Marie Antoinette moment, anybody?), there’s no denying her beauty looks are just as iconic. From graphic liner and spiky eyelashes to every lip colour under the sun, the influential singer has tried it all. So, it made complete sense when she launched her own makeup brand Haus Labs.
Combining high-tech formulas and skin-loving ingredients into some truly innovative products, it’s no wonder the brand constantly goes viral on TikTok. The foundation alone has had over nine billion, yes, billion, views. And in true Gaga fashion, every formula has been created with every one in mind. Vegan, cruelty-free and a highly considered approach to its ingredients, the shade range is truly impressive, too. We’re talkin’ 51 foundation shades, 10 different highlighters, 12 bronzers and an array of lip colours.
I was lucky enough to test some products from the line-up ahead of its UK launch, which will see the brand available exclusively in Sephora. Here’s a run through of the ones that have become a permanent addition to my makeup bag…
Bio-Radiant Gel-Powder Highlighter
Almost too pretty to use, the name of this highlighter was enough to intrigue me alone. The hybrid formula, which is available in 10(!!) shades, means you don’t get the same ‘powdery’ finish as traditional highlighters. Instead, it glides onto skin, blends easily and delivers a gorgeous, dewy, almost wet-look glow that isn’t glittery. If you like the ease of applying a powder but the melted, skin-like finish of a liquid formulation, grab this.
Bio-Blurring Talc-Free Loose Setting Powder
As somebody who’s T-zone becomes somewhat of an oil slick come 3pm, this powder has become a bit of a lifesaver. As well as mopping up excess sebum and getting rid of unwanted shine, it has an incredible blurring effect that makes skin look smooth and even while setting makeup. It feels lightweight on skin, too, thanks to added Plant Squalane and Fermented Arnica, an ingredient that Gaga herself relied on to help counteract her Fibromyalgia.
Optic Intensity Eco Eyeliner
Eyeliner is a staple part to my everyday look – and this one has quickly become a firm favourite. Taking inspiration from kajal, it manages to be creamy and pigmented without leaking down your cheeks after a few hours. But the credentials don’t stop there. The dual-ended packaging comes with a smudge brush, making smokey eyes easier than ever, all of the shades are carbon-black free and it’s the world’s first eyeliner that has a 100% biodegradable barrel, made from recycled paper fibres. Gaga really did think of everything.
