Want naturally beautiful makeup? Soft glam is the way to glow. Perfect for brides, wedding guest inspo and prom makeup, this trend will help you look fresh and feel-good on every occasion.

RSVP: yes.

A soft glam makeup look mixes dewy skin with subtle glam touches. Think: diffused eyeliner wings, glass skin prep and blurred lips for an undone radiance that appears effortless. This is all about creating a lit-from-within vibe that highlights but never hides your natural features. It’s you, just on your best day. No wonder it’s very hot on social with #softglammakeup reaching a huge 155.3K posts on TikTok.

Follow our step-by-step soft glam tutorial with Faye

Step 1: Skincare Prep for a flawless finish

1) Apply Tatcha Dewy Milk Moisturiser all over the face to create a hydrated, luminous base.

2) Tap Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream gently around the eye area to smooth and hydrate

3) Glide Glossier Futuredew Solid Oil-Serum Illuminator Stick onto the high points of the face (cheekbones, brow bone, bridge of the nose). Blend with fingertips for an intense, glassy luminosity.

Pro tip: Use your fingers for prep products—body heat helps them melt seamlessly into the skin.

Step 2: How to apply your base application

1) Prime skin with Sephora Collection Hydrate & Glow Face Primer to enhance glow and grip makeup.

2) Using the Sephora Collection #06 Multitasker Face Brush, work Milk Makeup Hydro Grip SkinTint into the brush first,  then buff into the skin using circular motions for an even, natural complexion.

3) Apply Armani Luminous Silk Concealer to the under-eyes and centre of the face using the Makeup by Mario F3 Brush to brighten and softly conceal.

Pro tips: Keep the base light and blendable for a natural skin finish.

Buff foundation outward from the centre of the face to keep the edges sheer and natural.

Step 3: Define your brows

1) Lightly define brows using Valentino Trio Brow Liner.

2) Use short, hair-like strokes to fill sparse areas.

Step 4: Eyes - soft definitions

Keep the eyes softly sculpted with creamy, blendable textures.

1) Buff Armani Eye Tint across the lid and lower lash line for soft defintion.

2) Using Armani Eye Tint, softly line the lash line and extend slightly outward to create a diffused wing.

3) Add shimmer to the inner corners using Half Magic Glitterpuck for a subtle sparkle.

4) Finish with Makeup by Mario Master Mascara for softly defined lashes.

Pro tip: Blend cream shadows with a fluffy brush or fingertip before they set for the smoothest finish.

Step 5: Cheeks + Highlights

Add warmth and subtle structure without harsh lines.

1) Sculpt and bronze using Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Melting Bronzer & Sculpt Stick, applying beneath the cheekbones and blending upward.

2) Sweep Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer lightly over the cheeks and temples for a diffused, glowing bronze finish.
3) Tap Haus Labs Bio-Radiant Highlighter Balm onto the tops of the cheekbones and temples.

Pro tips:  Use fluffy brushes and upward motions to keep the effect soft and lifted. Press highlighter into the skin with fingers for an ultra-glassy glow.

Step 6: Lips + Setting your Soft Glam Makeup Look

1) Slightly overline and contour the lips using Sephora Collection Lip Tint Felt Liner.

2) Define further with Sephora Collection 8H Colourful Transfer-Proof Lip Liner and blend the edges with your finger to soften.

3) Tap Sephora Collection Totally Juicy Lip Tint onto the centre of the lips and blend with fingers.

4) Finish with Sephora Collection About That Shine Lipstick for a natural glossy shine.

5) Set your soft glam look by spritzing One/Size On 'Til Dawn Mattifying Setting Spray over the face to lock makeup in place while enhancing the skin's natural glow.

Want the insider secrets behind that effortless bridal glow?

Sophie Cullen, Co‑Founder of The Bridal Beauty Company, spills it all in our Q&A below.

Q: What is soft glam makeup, and why is it so popular for weddings?

A: Soft glam is the sweet spot of bridal beauty think polished, radiant, and that gorgeous effortless look without feeling overdone - it's a look that we're constantly being asked about and same with product recommendations. A soft glam look enhances your natural features rather than masking them, with glowing skin, softly defined eyes, and a neutral, flattering lip. It’s become so popular for weddings because it photographs beautifully, feels timeless, and most importantly still feels like you, just with that extra bridal glow. I opted for this on my wedding day and used a full face of Bobbi Brown. They have great products and most importantly stay put all day.

Q: How is soft glam different from natural or full glam bridal makeup?

A: We always say, think of soft glam as the perfect in-between. Natural makeup is more minimal, sheer coverage think skin tints rather than a foundation, barely-there eyes - just a sweep swipe of mascara to create very subtle definition. Full glam, on the other hand, is bold and dramatic with heavier contouring, stronger eyes, and more intensity. Soft glam sits right in the middle: skin is perfected but still luminous, eyes are defined but diffused, and everything is blended to create a seamless, flattering finish.

Q: Will soft glam makeup last all day on my wedding day?

A: Yes, when it’s done properly, soft glam can absolutely go the distance. It’s all about smart layering rather than heavy application. Long-wear, lightweight formulas, thin layers, and the right prep underneath will keep everything in place. Add a good setting spray - Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray is the best - and a little strategic powder, and your makeup will stay fresh from the aisle to the dance floor. Our fave setting powder is Makeup by Mario, we are constantly recommending this to brides, you makeup will last from the aisle to the dance floor!

Q: How should I prep my skin for a soft glam bridal look?

A: Skin prep is everything. In the weeks leading up, focus on hydration and gentle exfoliation to keep your skin smooth and balanced. On the day, think plump, fresh, and well-moisturised. A good skincare base allows makeup to sit better, last longer, and gives you that natural glow that soft glam is known for. Inn Beauty do some brilliant products that we are loving at the moment and perfect for brides.

Q: Is soft glam makeup suitable for all skin tones and skin types?

A: Absolutely - 100% all the makeup artists and experts we meet say the same to us. That’s one of the reasons it’s so widely loved, it’s incredibly versatile. Soft glam isn’t about a fixed look; it’s about adapting tones, textures, and techniques to suit you. Whether your skin is oily, dry, or combination, and whatever your skin tone, the look can be tailored to enhance your features in the most flattering way.

Q: What are the key products or textures that define a soft glam bridal look?

A: It’s all about balance and finish. Think radiant foundations, creamy bronzers and blushes, softly shimmering eyeshadows (nothing too glittery), and finely milled powders that set without dulling the glow. Lips are usually kept soft, rosy nudes, peaches, or pinks. For something a little extra, add a satin or gloss finish to keep everything looking fresh and modern.

Q: How can I make soft glam look more elevated for professional photos?

A: A little extra definition goes a long way on camera. Slightly deepen the eyeshadow in the crease, add a softly smoked liner, or enhance contour just enough to give structure. Lashes also make a big difference, they frame the eyes and help them stand out in photos, while still keeping that soft, romantic feel in real life. Our top tip? Make sure the glue is tacky before applying, this helps this stay in put.

Q: What’s your number one soft glam tip every bride should know?

A: Blend everything. Then blend it again. Soft glam is all about diffusion, we're talking no harsh lines, no obvious edges, just a seamless, glowing finish that looks beautiful from every angle, both in person and in photos. And don't forget your neck and ears, thank us later!
